For very dry or damaged hair.
Materials:
1 banana 2-3 dollops of mayonaisse 1tbls. olive oil
Instructions:
Put banana in blender and puree until completely smooth. (You don't want clumps
of banana in your hair.) Then add mayo and oil and blend until smooth and
creamy. Apply to hair. Let sit for 15-30 minutes. Rinse with warm water and
shampoo as usual.
Hair Shine
Stir 1 teaspoon honey into 4 cups (1 quart) warm water. Blondes may wish to add
a squeeze of lemon. After shampooing, pour mixture through hair. Do not rinse
out. Dry as normal.
Sea Kelp Rinse
(For Damaged Hair) Materials: 1/4 C. sea kelp 1 C. Lemon Rinse or Sage Rinse
Instructions:
Combine kelp and rinse in a glass jar, cap tightly, and shake well. Apply generously to freshly-shampooed hair. Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
Flour Paste
(For Frizzy Hair) ~ Flouring is an ancient recipe that smoothes the scales of the hair shaft, making
it more manageable. Materials: 1 C. flour 2/3 C. cold water
Instructions:
Mix until lumps disappear. Apply to dry, unwashed hair, smoothing the mixture and your hair straight back. Leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly about five minutes. Shampoo with one lathering of mild shampoo. Rinse with cool water.
Homemade Sun-In Lightener
Materials:
Juice of 1 lemon 1 oz. mild shampoo Juice of 2 limes
Instructions:
Mix all ingredients. Leave on hair for 15 to 20 minutes while under a dryer or in the sun. Rinse out. Style as usual.
