There are so many things in this world today that seem to cause us to feel
separated from each other: race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, height, weight, mental or
physical ability, economic status... the list is virtually endless. But the simple fact of the matter is that we are all
human beings, all sharing stewardship of this planet we call Earth. The duties of a steward are to take care of what has been placed in his/her care until the return of the one who "owns" it. We cannot do that if we are always
fighting because of the differences between us.
We have a powerful new tool to overcome some of the initial "prejudices" we form when meeting someone in
person - the Internet. Meeting people online allows us to get to know someone's soul before we see how that soul is packaged. And
from personal, the package doesn't matter once you know the soul.
The Tolerant Friends Webring was created to link all the sites of those who have made friends with someone online who is "different" from them in some way. Or for those who have found their tolerance, understanding and compassion increased because of something they saw or read on the Web.
The beliefs expressed on the pages within the Tolerant Friends Webring are those of the author of that page. Simply because a site is in the ring does NOT mean they agree with or espouse the beliefs of pages other than their own, simply that they are tolerant enough to allow others to hold their own beliefs.
THE CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
We meet on-line to have a great time.... We laugh and we giggle and smile at our screens,
We sit back and wonder what this all means.
We surf the Web, we travel afar, We span thousands of mile without a car. We watch conversations flowing on the screen,
We tell jokes and stories and know what they mean.
What are we looking for? Where's the attraction? How can we do this and get satisfaction?
Who are we? Why are we here?
We are "the Circle of Friends", made from a chain. And we're here because friendship is what we gain!
Born on-line formed by few, We had no idea just what to do.
So we are linking our pages, first one then two, And wonder where we'll end up when we are through?
The Circle will spread, like a wild vine, It will breathe and whisper like the winds of time.
We are the Circle of Friends, made from a chain, All of our motives are exactly the same.
Searching for friendships all over the lands, Linking our pages is like holding hands.
We are 'the Circle of Friends', made from a chain, A chain of cable and wire without an end.
