Lemon Tea
Ingredients:
4 cups lemonade
4 cups cold tea
2 T white sugar Preparation:
In a large pitcher, stir together lemonade and tea. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Chill in refrigerator.
"No-Sweat" Tea (hot or iced)
The following herbs, when brewed and drunk as a tea are reported to reduce perspiration within 2 hours of use with its effects lasting several days: Ingredients:
4 cups boiling water
1 teaspoon dried hops
1 teaspoon stinging nettle
1 teaspoon fresh cut rose petals
1 teaspoon fresh or dried strawberry leaves
1 teaspoon fresh walnut leaves
3 tablespoons of dried sage leaves Preparation:
Combine all ingredients, cover and steep for an hour. Strain and sweeten with honey if desired.
Root Beer Floats
Yield: 35 8-ounce servings Root Beer Ingredients:
1 ounce root beer concentrate
2 1/2 pounds granulated sugar
2 1/2 gallons lukewarm water
2 pounds dry ice (Note: Do NOT handle dry ice with bare hands - use tongs or rubber gloves.) Root Beer Method:
Mix together the root beer concentrated, sugar and water in a large container (do not use aluminum). Carefully add the dry ice and let the mixture stand for approximately 20 min. Ice Cream
Yield: 2 quarts Ice Cream Ingredients:
4 cups half-and-half
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 Table Spoon vanilla
2 cups whipping cream
2 drops orange food coloring Ice Cream Method:
Combine half-and-half, sugar, and vanilla and stir until the sugar dissolves. Add cream and mix well. Add food coloring and mix again. Place in ice cream freezer and follow the directions as specified for your ice cream freezer unit. To Make the Root Beer Floats:
In a tall glass, place one scoop of ice cream, fill with root beer and serve. Left over foot beer can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight glass or plastic container.
